Operations consulting

Operations that work for you

I'm an operations consultant for service businesses. The difference is that I don't just tell you what's broken. I design, build and implement the systems to fix it.

30 minutes. No pitch. You'll leave with recommendations whether we work together or not.

The difference

Anyone can tell you what's wrong. I build and implement the solution.

Most consultants stop at the recommendation. That's where the work starts.

The usual engagement

A deck of recommendations

A diagnosis, an invoice, and the work back on your desk.

Assumes you'll figure out the software

A list of tools to evaluate, and no help evaluating them.

Sold by one person, delivered by another

A senior name wins the work, a junior team does the delivery.

A handover document

The engagement ends the day the file is delivered.

How I work

A working system your team uses on Monday

I map how the work actually flows, workarounds included, then build the fix.

Built for owners who aren't tech people

I handle everything technical and train your team until it's second nature.

I do the work myself

You get the person you hired, on every part of the engagement.

Training, measures and 30 days of support

Plus the numbers that prove the change actually stuck.

Services

How can I help you?

Every engagement is scoped to what the business actually needs. These are the shapes that work takes most often.

Fractional COO

An operations lead for part of the week, without the full-time hire.

Custom systems

Software built around how you actually work, instead of the other way around.

Operations audit

A clear picture of how your business really runs, and what to fix first.

EOS implementation

Run your business on EOS, properly set up and actually embedded.

Workflow automation

Stop paying people to do the same thing manually every week.

Dashboards and reporting

Know how the business is performing without having to ask anyone.

AI training

Use AI where it genuinely helps, and nowhere it doesn't.

Setup for new businesses

Start with the systems in place, instead of retrofitting them in year three.

Compliance stopped being something we prepared for. It's just how the business runs now.

Questions

Answers to your most common questions

Are you based in the US?
No, I'm based in the UK and work with clients across the US, UK and Australia. In practice my afternoons are your mornings, which covers most of the working day on the East Coast and the start of it on the West. Everything I build is remote-first because it has to be.
Will I be working with you, or someone on your team?
Me. I do the work myself. That's the reason the quality holds, and it's the main difference between working with me and working with a consultancy where a senior person sells and a junior delivers.
I'm not a tech person. Is this going to be over my head?
No, and most of my clients aren't tech people either. That's the point. You tell me how the business works, I handle everything technical, and I train your team until the new way feels normal. If you can use a phone, you can use what I build.
What does this cost?
It depends entirely on scope, which is why the first call is free. As a guide, one-off implementations typically run from a few thousand dollars, and ongoing fractional COO support is a monthly retainer. You'll have a fixed price in writing before anything starts, and I don't work on open-ended hourly billing.
Is the free call actually free?
Yes. Thirty minutes, no pitch, and you'll leave with recommendations whether we work together or not. If I'm not the right fit I'll tell you on the call and point you somewhere better.

The problem

Operations that work for you, not the other way around.

Right now it's the other way around.

Nobody designed the way your business runs. It accumulated. A spreadsheet from year one, a tool added to fix one problem, a process that lives in someone's head because there was never time to write it down. That holds, right up until it doesn't.

Early on it sounds like this

“Nothing's really written down.”

“Everything goes through one person.”

“I'm not sure what we're supposed to have in place.”

Later it sounds like this

“We have processes. Nobody follows them.”

“Six tools, and the same information lives in four of them.”

“We hired more people and somehow got slower.”

“I can't get a straight answer on how we're performing.”

The part that rarely gets priced in

20–30%

of businesses brought to market actually sell

10–25%

typical key person discount in private company valuations, higher where the business is heavily owner-dependent

~80%

of small and mid-sized businesses show owner dependency

Only 20 to 30% of businesses brought to market ever sell, and owner dependency is one of the most consistent reasons deals fail. Where a sale does complete, valuers apply a key person discount that typically runs 10 to 25%, and considerably more where the business cannot function without its owner.
